Grand Prix – Serbia 2025

The European Taekwondo Grand Prix returns in 2025 with its second series set to take place from 27–28 September in Vršac, Serbia, promising an event that will bring together the most talented Cadet and Junior athletes from across Europe and beyond.

Following the success of the inaugural edition, the European Taekwondo Union (ETU) continues to expand the Grand Prix concept, aiming to prepare young athletes for top-level competition against international rivals. ETU President Sakis Pragalos highlighted the importance of offering Europe’s rising stars exposure to athletes from other continents, ensuring they are ready for the highest stage.

A Step Toward the Grand Prix Final

The Vršac competition is part of the wider 2025 Grand Prix Series, which will culminate with the Grand Prix Final in December in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where winners will be awarded prize money and Value in Kind packages. The event in Serbia holds E8 European Ranking status, making it a crucial stop for athletes looking to secure their place in the season finale.

Competition Schedule

Over two days of action at the Centar Millennium Sports Hall, athletes will compete in multiple weight categories:

• Cadets Male: -33 kg -37 kg -41 kg -45 kg -49 kg
• Cadets Female: -29 kg -33 kg -37 kg -41 kg -44 kg
• Juniors Male: -45 kg -48 kg -51 kg -55 kg -59 kg
• Juniors Female: -42 kg -44 kg -46 kg -49 kg -52 kg

• 28th September:
• Cadets Male: -53 kg -57 kg -61 kg -65 kg +65 kg
• Cadets Female: -47 kg -51 kg -55 kg -59 kg +59 kg
• Juniors Male: -63 kg -68 kg -73 kg -78 kg +78 kg
• Juniors Female: -55 kg -59 kg -63 kg -68 kg +68 kg

The format follows a single elimination system with the Best of Three rounds, in line with the updated World Taekwondo competition rules.

Pathway for Participation

Participation in this event is by invitation only, with quotas distributed through qualification events, host nation spots, wild cards, and ranking allocations. Athletes must also hold a valid 2025 WT Global License and meet the eligibility requirements for their age division:

• Cadets: born in 2011–2013
• Juniors: born in 2008–2010
